Responding to drought, famine and conflict in Somalia, SRDA helps communities transform from crisis to recovery and transition them to long term development through integrated programming. Working in South Central, Punt land and Somaliland, SRDA has reached more 2,600,000 beneficiaries through integrated humanitarian programs from 2013-2018.

Supporting vulnerable IDPs, Returnees, Refugees and Host community by providing free clean and safe water, Health and Nutrition, Food Security and Protection, SRDA is working with UNICEF, WFP, FAO and IOM and World Vision in reaching the most vulnerable with timely and effect humanitarian interventions.

Job Summary:

The Livelihoods Officer will be responsible for ensuring the development, implementation and achievement of World Vision Somalia OFDA funded emergency program objectives in line with the proposal. He/she is to be held accountable for the quality and standards of operations in the field. The incumbent will ensure regular monitoring of implementation, submission of timely reports to project manager and attending coordination forums such as cluster meetings.

Main Responsibility

· Carry out community mobilization, beneficiary's identification, selection and registration processes timely, transparently in accordance with the program guidelines related.

· Participate in various field assessments and surveys including; market research, needs assessment, baseline surveys, and pre-post training surveys.

· Develop training schedules in close collaboration with the program manager

· Actively attend meetings with donors and partner organizations to present SRDA livelihood work in the district.

· Monitor effectively the expenditures of the team budget on a monthly basis.

· Monitor the quality of filed activities and ensure innovative techniques are used.

· Revise and approve on monthly basis field activities plans.

· Provide capacity building training and technical support to field staff and local partners to ensure quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities.

· Lead beneficiary selection, verification, mobilization and sensitization

· Prepare project reports/weekly/monthly and annual as well for any updates required from the field

· Develop project work plan and implement against the target

· Coordinate the implementation of the livelihoods component in the Recovery field area of responsibility

· Provide support to the Program Manager in provision of livelihoods measures, and updates of the progress

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

· Degree in development related fields; having master’s degree is preferable.

· Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in development/humanitarian aid; previous experience in economic empowerment programming is a must.

· Previous management experience is an added advantage;

· Strong leadership, program, organizational management and communication skills; and

· Fluency in English is required

This is a field based position in Burhakaba district of Bay region, Somalia, and requires up to 50% travel to the project sites.

SRDA staff represent the agency both in and out of work in wherever they are. Staff are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect country laws, culture and agency’s policies, procedures and values all the times.
