NUTRITION FIELD OFFICER (ECOSEC) – KISMAYO

The Nutrition Field Officer (Somalia based Resident/National position) contributes to the overall integration, implementation and management of the Economic Security (EcoSec) Nutrition activities across Somalia.

Your Responsibilities

1. Monitors nutrition and food security activities and tracks the integrated nutrition indicators;

2. Ensures optimal integration of standard nutrition and food consumption tools and indicators;

3. Ensures quality food consumption and nutrition analysis at field level;

4. Trains enumerators including SRCS staff and volunteers on nutrition and food consumption tools and compiles their feedback;

5. Monitors all EcoSec food and nutrition products stored in the field to ensure optimal conditions for quality preservation;

6. Participates in the training of prison/penitentiary administration and medical staff on food chain/nutritional problems identified;

7. Designs food chain assessment tools, analyses results, formulates relevant recommendations and drafts assessment reports;

8. Rolls out and monitors quality programs for treatment of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM);

9. Compiles statistical data on all nutrition interventions and submits monthly statistical reports;

10. Maintains regular contacts with nutrition interlocutors and exchanges information as required.

Your Profile

1. A University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing or related field;

2. At least 5 years work experience in a similar field;

3. Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali;

4. Strong team leadership skills;

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

6. Good analytical and communication skills;

7. Good knowledge of the Somali context.
